NEW YORK– Stating that he was “absolutely blown away” at “how low (Durant) sunk,” area man Jeremy Yates seemed fully under the impression that NBA superstar Kevin Durant, for whatever reason, is even remotely concerned with the fact that Yates is disappointed in him.

“If that’s me, if I’m KD, I can’t look myself in the mirror,” Yates said. “You’re supposedly one of the best players in the world, and you leave your first and only team and go to a conference rival that’s already statistically the best team ever?” he said. “Man, I’m sorry, but I just don’t have much respect for the guy anymore.”

Yates, 38, who works as a Marketing Consultant for Interperm Resources, stated multiple times that he would have “never even considered” signing with Golden State, had he been in Durant’s shoes last summer.

“How can you do that? How can you just give up like that?” asked Yates. “I mean, really, you’re just going to leave your franchise and build a super team with the Warriors, and then somehow expect me not to dislike you?” he added. “No way, pal. Not happening.”

Yates continued on his tangent by saying that there is no way Durant could ever win back his heart, regardless of whatever may transpire in the near future.

“I mean listen, every championship you win with those guys is hollow,” Yates continued. “I hate to say it but it’s true. And it sucks because you were a player I truly admired; somebody who’d stand up for what’s right on the court and in your own community- but let me tell you, you threw it all away when you sold out and went to Oakland,” added Yates. “Man, I’m not going to lie, I used to love KD, and he probably would have been one of my favorite players ever, but after doing what he did this past year? I don’t think so.”

Durant, who is currently nearing the halfway point of his 2-year, $54 million dollar contract with the Golden State Warriors, was unable to be reached for comment at the time.
